St. Jean Baptiste Day 2019

SAINT-JEAN-BAPTISTE DAY 2019

On Saturday, June 22, we celebrated the EIGHTH annual Saint Jean Baptiste Day, the national holiday of Québec held on the birthday of Quebec’s patron saint. This year’s event featured a bus tour and presentation on the Treaty of 1855 by Frenchtown descendant Sam Pambrun and tours of the St. Rose of Lima cemetery (1876) and the Prince’s cabin (ca. 1834). We also enjoyed a delicious baked potato bar lunch, French Canadian and Métis fiddle music and singalong, lodgepole skinning demonstrations, and historical displays. Thanks to all who attended and contributed to the event this year!
